Femibion 2 provides you with carefully chosen nutrients like folate (Metafolin® & folic acid) & the omega-3 fatty acid DHA from the 13th week of pregnancy until the end of breastfeeding.
Throughout pregnancy particular care should be taken to ensure that your folate supply is adequate.
Folate (Metafolin® and folic acid) contributes to normal blood formation and the process of cell division, as well as maternal tissue growth during pregnancy, including placental growth. The placenta supplies your unborn baby with essential nutrients the baby needs.
The essential omega-3 fatty acid DHA (Docosahexaenoic acid) is an important component of all cell membranes throughout the body, and is particularly highly concentrated in the brain and the retina.
Components
Folic acid
B vitamin that in the body is converted into folate to become biologically active. The human body needs folate, which contributes to normal blood formation, cell division and thus tissue growth.
Metafolin®
A special form of folate developed and patented by Merck that does not have to be converted in the body but is available directly. Metafolin® is a registered trademark of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany.
Iodine
Contributes to the normal production of thyroid hormones. In some countries both Femibion products are also available without iodine.
DHA
This omega-3 fatty acid plays a special role for pregnancy and the nursing period. Pregnant and nursing women are recommended to take an additional amount of 200 mg DHA daily since it supports the normal development of the brain and eyes of the fetus and breastfed an infant.
Vitamin B1, B2, and Biotin
contribute to maintaining normal energy-yielding metabolism and normal functioning of the nervous system.
Vitamin B6, B12, and Pantothenic acid
help to reduce tiredness and fatigue.
Vitamin C
supports normal functioning of the immune system.
Vitamin D3
contributes to the normal functioning of the immune system and has a role in the process of cell division.
Vitamin E
helps to protect the cells from oxidative stress.
How to use
Swallow 1 tablet per day with some water, preferably with a main meal.
Do not exceed the recommended daily intake.
Keep out of reach of young children.
